Dish Network has never been inclined to stand still. The satellite system operator is always restless, always seeking new opportunities, always seeking new ways to serve its customers.

Dish Network’s latest venture is iPhone repair. On Tuesday, May 4, Dish unveiled its Smart Phone Repair program, offering to send its technicians to customer locations to replace cracked screens or exhausted batteries.  Dish says the service is only for iPhones now, but will be available for Android phones later. Dish technicians will also sell power cords, cases, and screen protectors.

John Swieringa, the company’s Executive Vice President of Operations, said: “Fixing your phone shouldn’t require losing (it) for days on end, so we come to you- whether you’re at home, the gym, or even the coffee shop. Dish is uniquely positioned, with the technical know-how and ability to respond to a customer’s needs in all fifty states.”

The iPhone repair service is available during normal business hours, seven days a week, everywhere in the United States, and customers don’t have to be Dish TV or internet subscribers. Most appointments will be for the same day or the next day. Most repairs will take 30 to 45 minutes. Most screen repairs will cost $130.00 to $150.00, and battery replacement will cost $40.00.  A service call will cost $35.00, but there’s no limit to the number of phones it covers. In fact, Dish is promoting the service for corporate events, so a business can have many iPhones repaired in a single visit.

Dish technicians will offer more than iPhone repair. While on site, they will promote Dish TV service, and will help connect web-enabled TV sets, WiFi Networks, and surround-sound systems.
