ABC & CINEMAX NOW ON SLING TV
Sling TV continues to expand its channel lineup. Barely one year old, Dish Network’s internet video streaming platform has grown quickly.
At the beginning, Sling TV’s core package, called The Best of Live TV and sold for $20.00 per month, included only seventeen channels. It quickly grew to twenty-three channels. Sling TV soon added several optional news, sports, or general entertainment packages: Sports Extra, Kids Extra, Best of Spanish TV, Deportes Extra, Peliculas y Novelas Extra, Hollywood Extra, World News Extra, and Broadcast Extra. Each can be added to the core package for $5.00 per month.
Within the last two weeks, Sling TV added ABC and Cinemax.
Cinemax is a premium service like HBO and Showtime, offering original series and movies on demand . Its serial programming includes hit shows such as Banshee, The Knick, Strike Back, and Quarry. The movies currently carried by Cinemax include 12 Years a Slave, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Let’s Be Cops, 300: Rise of an Empire, Neighbors, Transcendence, and Jersey Boys.
ABC is a division of The Walt Disney Company, which offers other channels or networks already carried by Sling TV, including The Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and ESPN. ABC is the first broadcast network carried by Sling TV, though, marking an important milestone, Other broadcast networks are expected to follow.
