Of all cable and satellite TV systems, Dish Network is probably the most committed to innovation. DISH continually seeks to upgrade its equipment, and its Hopper-Joey combination is the most advanced DVR on the market. And now the Hopper and the Joey handle the Dish Music mobile app.
The app enables syncing of music to multiple rooms using TV audio systems. They need only to be linked to the Hopper 2, the Hopper 3, or the Joey. And the app can be synced wirelessly to DTS Play-Fi enabled speakers.
The Hopper is a whole-home HD-DVR, and the Joey is a client device for extending the Hopper system to additional TV sets.
The Dish Music App
The mobile Dish Music app is compatible with multiple streaming services, including Amazon Prime Music, Deezer, iHeart Radio, Napster, Pandora, SiriusXM, and Tidal. Of course, for access to any of these services, an account may be required.
The app can be controlled with Android and iOS tablets and phones.
The app can control several sonic streaming zones through the house. TV sets connected to the Hopper or Joey will display information about the songs or tunes being played. This includes the artist’s background, the title, and the streaming service used.
Dish Network says the app is free for its subscribers, and does not require specialized audio equipment.
To get the Dish Music app, you can easily download it from the Amazon app marketplace, the Apple App Store, or Google Play.
